Expodental: the key details of this scientific congress

May 16, 2021

On 24, 25 and 26 June 2021 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), the North Convention Centre and Hall 9 of IFEMA (Madrid) will host the First Expodental Scientific Congress, a congress that aims to become one of the leading international knowledge forums in the dental sector.

The congress will be backed by, among others, IFEMA itself and by Fenin, the cross-sector federation that brings together various companies and manufacturers' associations, as well as importers and distributors of healthcare technologies and products.

Expodental scientific programme

The Expodental scientific programme comprises up to 16 talks, spread over Friday 25 June and Saturday 26 June. Each talk is expected to last around 45 minutes. The first one will start each day at 09.00. There will be 4 talks in the morning and another 4 in the afternoon, ending each day at around 18.15. Each of the specialists is endorsed by a Scientific Committee chaired by Professor Jaime Gil and Dr Nacho Rodríguez.

The talks will be given by various specialists from the dental sector. They will cover key aspects of periodontics, dental aesthetics, prosthodontics, digital dentistry, CAD-CAM technology in the laboratory, the use of aligners and micro-screws, endodontics and more.

Alongside these talks, there will be various workshops with practical demonstrations and a trade exhibition so that all Expodental attendees can discover the latest advances in technology and services in the sector. A large number of companies will exhibit their latest developments in dentistry.

The SEPES Digital Symposium

One of the highlights of the Expodental Scientific Congress will be the SEPES Digital Academy Symposium on Friday 24 June, a meeting coordinated by Professor Guillermo Pradíes and dedicated to clinical updates in digital dentistry.

Various speakers specialising in new technologies will take part in the symposium, including Drs Pablo Ramírez, José Manuel Navarro, Nicolás Gutiérrez, Cristina Zarauz and Oscar Figueras.

The symposium will close with a round table at which all attendees will be able to ask questions about digital dentistry. An event that may well become one of the most important, unmissable dates for all dental specialists and professionals.

The Trade Exhibition

One of the main activities at Expodental will be the Trade Exhibition, where visitors can discover the latest technological developments in the dental sector. Dentists, hygienists, dental technicians, orthodontists and other dental professionals will meet to discover all these new developments. An excellent way to meet other professionals in the sector face to face again.

The exhibition area will cover more than 2,300 square metres in Hall 9 of IFEMA. To date, up to 82 companies have already confirmed their attendance to present their latest technologies and solutions for the sector. Admission to the exhibition will be free for all professionals in the sector who register for the Congress.

Those who do not register can gain access by buying a ticket at the box office for 24 euros. The exhibition will be open from 10.00 to 20.00 from 24 to 26 June inclusive.

Hands-on workshops

In addition to the talks and the Trade Exhibition, the hands-on workshops will be another activity open to professionals attending Expodental 2021. A professional from the company organising each workshop will lead the session, and participants will be able to learn first-hand everything about the equipment in question.

A range of workshops will be held to cover a wide variety of specialities. These are expected to include workshops on loupes and microscopes, magnification, software applications and 3D image management, periodontal hygiene treatment equipment, composites, digital impressions, smile design, aligners, implantology and more.

Please bear in mind that the number of participants in each workshop will be limited due to COVID protocols, so prior registration is required. The workshops cost 30 euros.

Expodental passes and tickets

A general ticket for full attendance at Expodental costs 280 euros (250 euros if purchased before 24 May). This ticket gives access to the trade exhibition and the various talks. In addition, the price includes coffee breaks and meals in Hall 9 of IFEMA, a delegate bag and the corresponding certificate of attendance.
