3-axis machining
Porcelanosa was looking for a 3-axis machining centre to machine the various moulds used in its ceramic production. It also needed a machine with a large table to machine the moulds of different sizes it works with.
Ferrotall's solution
Ferrotall provided exclusive advice based on Porcelanosa's needs and, as we work with the best machinery brands for the mould and die sector, it was easy to offer a quality solution.
The machine is a 3-axis double-column machining centre, the Takumi H32S, with a 3,320 × 1,600 mm work table. The structural design ofthis machine, with a box-section crossbeam and a stepped linear guideway layout, widens the saddle contact area and ensures powerful, stable machining capacity at the spindle.
Commissioning of the machining centre
The Takumi machining centre was commissioned by our CNC machine technical service (Ferromaster), which specialises in this type of machine. It was a fairly complex operation due to the size and weight of the machine (33 tonnes), which required special transport and a special crane. Once in position, installation and calibration were completed without any problems. A quality machining centre that offers great precision for its moulds and allows Porcelanosa to continue delivering the quality and finishes it is known for. Why the TAKUMI H32S machining centre?
It brings us a whole range of benefits, the main one being time: we produce almost twice as much as with the old machine. It also substantially improves the surface finish of the part.
