Description
The Vurcon EL50 × 1500 is an electronic cycle lathe: it is operated like a conventional lathe, with handwheels on X and Z, but automatically runs turning, facing, threading and copying cycles that the operator enters on a touchscreen, with no ISO code programming. It swings Ø 500 mm over the bed and Ø 300 mm over the cross slide, takes workpieces up to 1,500 mm and comes with a Ø 250 mm chuck. The A11 spindle runs at 20-2,000 rpm (stepless control) with 11 kW and 650 Nm, with a Ø 104 mm spindle bore. It weighs 2,250 kg.
What it is used for
- One-off parts, prototypes and short runs with a lot of variety.

- First CNC lathe in the workshop or operator training.
Standard equipment
- Cycle control with touchscreen, constant cutting speed and electronic handwheels on X/Z.
- Servo motors and ball screws on X and Z.
- 4-position quick-change turret (tool 25 × 25 mm) and manual tailstock with revolving centre.
- Fixed steady rest 20-125 mm and travelling steady rest 20-80 mm, automatic lubrication, chip tray and full enclosure.
The EL50 series is also available with 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 mm workpiece length.
