Description and equipment

CMZ TL20S slant-bed CNC lathe

Slant-bed CNC lathe from the Basque manufacturer CMZ, with a sub-spindle to machine both faces of the part in the same cycle. It is aimed at the production of precision turned parts in medium runs: hydraulic components, automotive, valves, capital goods and parts from bar.

CMZ presents the TL series as compact slant-bed lathes for production. According to our data sheet, this unit incorporates a sub-spindle, which allows the part to be transferred and the second face finished without operator intervention. The Fanuc 21i-TB control is a widely used turning CNC, with extensive technical support and spare parts.

What is the advantage of the CMZ TL20S sub-spindle?

The sub-spindle picks up the part from the main headstock and allows the second face to be machined in the same cycle, without the operator having to turn the part over. This reduces set-ups, idle times and positioning errors, which is especially useful in runs of complete turned parts.

What workpiece size does this lathe accept?

According to our data sheet, the swing over bed is 680 mm, the maximum turning diameter 430 mm and the distance between centres 730 mm. The bar capacity is 67 mm, so it can work from bar if a suitable feeder is fitted.
