Frequently asked questions

What is the Haffner GL 179 saw used for?

The Haffner GL 179 is a glazing bead saw: it mitre-cuts the beads that hold the glass in PVC windows and doors. Its blade emerges below the table and the workpiece is held by pneumatic hold-downs, which allows fast, clean and repeatable cuts in window production.

What is the difference between a glazing bead saw and a cut-off saw?

The glazing bead saw is designed for small, light sections, with specific tooling for mitre cutting of the bead and pneumatic clamping. A cut-off saw or bandsaw is a general-purpose machine for cutting sections and bars of larger cross-section, normally metallic, without that dedicated tooling.

What electrical data does this unit have?

According to its rating plate, the machine runs at 220/380 V and 50 Hz, with manufacturing number 1114. It also needs compressed air for the pneumatic hold-downs. For more data or to see it, you can visit us in Monforte del Cid (Alicante) or ask us for a video.
