Description and equipment

Kondia turret milling machine

Conventional turret milling machine (knee type with ram) from the manufacturer Kondia, of Elgoibar (Gipuzkoa). It is one of the most common machines in maintenance shops, die making, prototyping and vocational training, suited to small and medium-sized parts and a variety of milling and drilling work.

Key strengths

Kondia turret milling machines are characterised by a vertical head mounted on a swivelling ram, which allows the spindle to be positioned over different areas of the table and tilted for angled work. The spindle with sliding quill makes drilling and reaming easier without moving the knee.

  • Vertical head with 8 speeds: 70, 125, 200, 300, 570, 950, 1,600 and 2,500 rpm (head plate, photo 5)
  • Ram on turret (photos 3 and 4)
  • T-slot table on knee (photos 1 and 4)
  • Transparent protective screen on the spindle (photos 2 and 4)

Typical applications

Frequently asked questions

What is a turret milling machine like this Kondia?

It is a conventional milling machine with the vertical head mounted on a ram that swivels and slides along the column. This way the spindle can be positioned over different areas of the table or tilted, which makes it very versatile for milling, drilling and reaming small and medium-sized parts.

What speeds does the head have?

According to the head's own plate, it has eight main spindle speeds: four low (70, 125, 200 and 300 rpm) and four high (570, 950, 1,600 and 2,500 rpm). This range covers everything from large-diameter cutters in steel to small drills and cutters.

What kinds of workshop is it suited to?

It is suited to industrial maintenance shops, die making, prototyping, repairs and vocational training centres, where one-off parts are made and quick set-up is valued. If you need to confirm travels, table size or spindle taper, ask us and we will check them on the machine.
