Vertical machining centre with 4th axis
The Lagun GVC 1000 is a vertical machining centre made in the Basque Country (Goratu Group) for medium-sized parts in general machining, moulds, tooling and subcontracting. This unit is offered with a 4th axis, which allows several faces or cylindrical contours to be machined.
Key strengths of the model
The GVC 1000 combines a 1,200 x 500 mm table with a 10,000 rpm spindle and BT-40 taper, a suitable balance between roughing and finishing. The Heidenhain TNC 426 control stands out for its plain-language conversational programming, much appreciated for one-off parts and short runs, and it also accepts ISO programs. The 24-position random tool changer and through-tool coolant help with deep-hole drilling and long cycles.

What workpiece size does the Lagun GVC 1000 accept?
The table measures 1,200 x 500 mm and the travels are 1,000 mm in X, 500 mm in Y and 620 mm in Z. It takes medium-sized prismatic parts, plates and inserts. With the 4th axis and its 200 mm chuck it can also machine turned parts or several faces of a part in a single set-up.
What are the advantages of the Heidenhain TNC 426 control?
The TNC 426 allows programming in Heidenhain conversational language, with drilling, pocketing and probing cycles that simplify the set-up of one-off parts and short runs. It also accepts ISO programs generated by CAM. It is a very familiar control in Spanish machining and mould shops.
What is the 4th axis of this machining centre used for?
The 4th axis is a rotary dividing chuck mounted on the table. It rotates the workpiece under program control to machine several faces, radial holes, slots or cylindrical contours without removing it, which reduces set-ups, fixtures and positioning errors.
