Description and equipment

Three-axis vertical machining centre

The Hurco VMX50 is a vertical machining centre with a large table for medium-sized prismatic parts: plates, fixtures, small moulds, machinery parts and prototypes. Its 1,270 mm X travel also lets you clamp several workpieces on the table and machine them in the same cycle.

Model and control highlights

Hurco is known for its own Ultimax control, which offers conversational on-screen programming as well as ISO code, speeding up set-up for one-off parts and short runs right at the machine. This unit has the dual-screen console typical of Ultimax.

Frequently asked questions

What workpiece size does the Hurco VMX50 take?

This unit has a 1,500 x 600 mm table and travels of 1,270 mm in X, 660 mm in Y and 640 mm in Z. It suits medium-sized prismatic parts, or clamping several small parts on the table at once.

What is the advantage of the Hurco Ultimax control?

Ultimax is Hurco's own control. It allows conversational programming, entering the geometry and operations on screen without writing code, and it also accepts ISO programs generated by CAM. It is practical for shops that make one-off parts or short runs with frequent changeovers.

What is through-tool coolant for?

It carries coolant through the spindle and the tool to the cutting edge. It improves swarf evacuation in deep-hole drilling, extends the life of drills and milling cutters and allows higher feed rates. This unit has this function according to our technical data sheet.
