Universal CNC milling machine from Hermle (Germany), built in 1996, with a Heidenhain TNC 426 control and a 34-tool changer. It is a widely used machine for tooling, moulds and one-off or short-run precision parts.
The Hermle UWF series combines a horizontal and a vertical spindle on a rigid cast-iron structure. According to the manufacturer's documentation for the UWF 902 H, the spindle is driven by an 8.6 kW motor with stepless speed control from 20 to 6,300 rpm in three ranges, with direct measuring in X, Y and Z. The Heidenhain TNC 426 is a conversational control well known in mould shops.
Tooling, electrodes, mould plates, precision prismatic parts and prototypes, in die-making, general machining and industrial maintenance shops.
The machine is at our premises in Monforte del Cid (Alicante), where you can visit it; contact us to see it running or to receive a video. Our own technical service takes care of transport, installation and commissioning.
This unit has a Heidenhain TNC 426 control, a contouring control with conversational programming in Heidenhain language as well as ISO. It is very common in mould and tooling shops, which makes it easier to find programmers and operators familiar with it and to reuse existing programs.
The table of this unit measures 900 x 520 mm and the travels are 600 mm in X, 450 mm in Y and 500 mm in Z. It is suitable for small and medium-sized prismatic parts, tooling and mould plates, with an ISO 40 taper and an automatic 34-tool changer.
A universal CNC milling machine such as the UWF 902 H can work with a horizontal or a vertical spindle, which allows several faces to be machined with fewer repositionings. A conventional vertical centre only works vertically, although it is usually faster and more common in production runs.
