Description and equipment

Vertical machining centre with large table

The Microcut MCV-2000 is a vertical machining centre made in Taiwan with a 2,200 mm table, designed for long and medium-sized parts in general machining, moulds and machinery manufacturing.

Key strengths of the machine

Its spindle with BT-50 taper allows large-diameter tools to be used and steel and cast iron to be roughed, while the 2,000 mm travel in X makes it easy to clamp long parts or several parts at once. The Fanuc 18-M control is a widely used CNC, with a large base of programmers and service support available. It has an automatic tool changer and a swarf conveyor, visible in the photos.

Frequently asked questions

What workpiece size does the Microcut MCV-2000 accept?

The table measures 2,200 x 1,000 mm and the travels are 2,000 mm in X, 1,000 mm in Y and 720 mm in Z. It takes long parts such as plates, machine beds or beams, and also lets you clamp several medium-sized parts along the table to machine them in the same cycle.

What control and spindle does this machining centre have?

It has a Fanuc 18-M control, a 6,000 rpm spindle with BT-50 taper, an automatic tool changer and a swarf conveyor. This configuration is geared to roughing and general machining in steel and cast iron, with large-diameter tools and good stock removal capacity.

What is the advantage of the BT-50 taper over the BT-40?

The BT-50 taper is larger and more rigid, so it transmits more torque and handles heavy tools such as face mills or large-diameter cutters better. It is preferable for roughing in steel and cast iron. The BT-40 is usually used with faster spindles for finishing and small parts.
