Description
The Takumi UB2222 is a 5-axis gantry machining centre of the UB series, with a direct-drive tilting head on two axes (B +/- 100°, C +/- 220°) on a double-column frame. It is designed for large, heavy parts in mould making, aerospace and automotive: travels of 2,200 × 2,250 × 1,200 mm, 2,460 mm between columns and a fixed 2,400 × 2,100 mm table for 8,000 kg.
The reference motor spindle runs at 24,000 rpm with an HSK63-A taper (42 / 55 kW, 87.5 Nm). For roughing, HSK100-A motor spindles are available at 15,000 rpm (124 Nm) and at 13,000 rpm (202 Nm). The pick-up magazine has 40 positions and rapid traverse rates reach 20 / 16 / 16 m/min.
As standard it includes a Heidenhain TNC7 control, absolute linear scales on all axes, thermal spindle compensation, ring cooling and a swarf conveyor. Options include workpiece and tool probes, internal cooling of the ball screws in Y and Z, Rotoclear and the Knoll production package.
