Description and equipment

LNS Quick Load Servo bar feeder

LNS short-bar automatic feeder, Quick Load Servo model, for working from bar on fixed-headstock CNC lathes. It allows parts to be chained together unattended, loading a new bar when the previous one runs out, and is a common upgrade for workshops that machine turned parts in series: shafts, bushings, fittings or pins.

The Quick Load Servo series

According to LNS, the Quick Load Servo range is based on a servo-driven pusher, with an inclined side loading magazine from which the bars pass one by one into the guide channel. According to the series documentation, the diameter change is adjusted from the console and the unit stores programs per part, which reduces set-up times when changing part number.

What is a bar feeder like the LNS Quick Load Servo used for?

It feeds a CNC lathe with bar stock automatically, pushing the bar towards the chuck as each part is finished and loading a new one when it runs out. This lets the lathe produce parts in series without the operator loading each one, which increases productive hours and allows work with less supervision.

What bar size does this unit accept?

According to our listing, this LNS Quick Load Servo bar feeder works with bars up to 1,600 mm long and up to 120 mm in diameter. The diameter that can actually be used will also depend on the bar capacity of the lathe it is connected to and on the guides or reducers installed in the channel.

Can it be fitted to any CNC lathe?

It needs a CNC lathe prepared to work with a feeder: compatible centre height, sufficient bar capacity and interface signals between the CNC and the bar feeder. Our service engineers can study your particular lathe, tell you what adaptations would be needed and take care of installation and commissioning.
