Un nuevo centro de mecanizado 5 ejes en nuestro showroom de maquinaria

A new 5-axis machining centre in our machinery showroom

Feb 09, 2022

Straight from Mindelheim (Germany), yesterday we took delivery at our Elche headquarters of a new G-series machining centre from GROB, the manufacturer of 5-axis machining centres.

It was a busy day yesterday at Ferrotall headquarters, where we received a new machine to complete our showroom of machining equipment.

Unloading required a self-propelled 24 t hydraulic crane, a self-loading lorry and 3 of our technicians from Ferromaster, the Ferrotall group's in-house service department, to get the machine into position in the showroom.

GROB's mid-size model joins our CNC machinery showroom

GROB's G series of 5-axis machining centres comprises the G150 (currently available in our showroom), G350, G550 and G750 models.

We have previously had the G550, the G350 and the model we used for our Open House at the Galdakao site and Metalmadrid 2021. Now the G550 joins our showroom, bringing to two the 5-axis machining centre models among the machines in stock available for immediate delivery.

GROB G550 5-axis machining centre

The G550 machining centre delivers the best milling technology and extremely stable, precise cutting of virtually any material. Process reliability comes from the efficiency and precision GROB offers, combined with the durability of its components.

A unique machine concept

The G550, like all other models in the GROB G series, is built on the same machine concept: a horizontal spindle (tunnel concept), which allows a longer travel in the Z axis and optimum swarf fall.

The tunnel concept makes it possible to swivel and machine the largest possible component within the work area without collisions, even with the longest tools.

Wide swivel range

Three linear and two rotary axes allow 5-sided machining and simultaneous 5-axis interpolation, with a swivel range of 230 degrees in the A' axis and 360 degrees in the B' axis

Maximum stability

The unique arrangement of the three linear axes results in a short distance between the guideways and the tool centre point (TCP) and particularly high machine rigidity.

GROB G550 5-axis machining centre

The G550 machining centre delivers the best milling technology and extremely stable, precise machining of almost any material, making it the perfect solution for industries such as automotive, renewable energy, mechanical engineering, aerospace and tool and mould making.
