A study of 58 machining centres from European manufacturers since 2007 places the German manufacturer GROB WERKE in the top position in the ranking of the 10 best machining centres.
CNC machinery expert Edwin Neugebauer carried out the study for the German portal PRODUKTION. The study takes into account factors such as control, automation and ease of maintenance, among others.
The 10 best machining centres
The ranking shows that first place goes to the smallest 5-axis machining centre in GROB's G series.
The G150 tops the list of best machining centres (according to Edwin Neugebauer), even though the machine was launched in 2020 and the study began in 2007.
For this machining centre, the German expert highlights the G-module assemblies, with particular emphasis on high dynamics, precision and a wide range of applications. It is optimised in all assemblies and achieves respectable dynamic values. Various automation components are available, and GROB keeps conversion options and machine control up to date. Service availability (24/7) and the supply and ordering of spare parts for the customer are exemplary.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7t5kdS2fK5UGerman manufacturer GROB WERKE has placed another of its 5-axis machining centres in the PRODUKTION portal ranking. Like its predecessor, the G150, the G350 appears in Edwin Neugebauer's ranking.
See the G350 specificationsAt Ferrotall we were already sure that GROB WERKE is Europe's number 1 manufacturer of 5-axis machining centres and automation systems, and that its machines deliver premium performance for any production.
That is why we want to highlight some factors that are well worth considering, not only for drawing up a ranking but also as distinguishing features to assess in any purchasing decision.
Why does GROB offer a different machine concept?
The Mindelheim-based manufacturer builds a number of features into its machining centres that make them unique.
Spindle positionThe horizontal spindle position allows the longest Z travel in this class of machine, as well as optimum swarf fall.
Axis arrangementThree linear axes and two rotary axes allow 5-sided machining and simultaneous 5-axis interpolation.
AccessibilityOptimum access to the workpiece, as well as almost unlimited possibilities for machining it.
Large swivel range The unique arrangement of the axes allows an extremely large swivel range of 230° on the A’ axis Tunnel conceptThe tunnel concept makes it possible to machine the largest possible component without collisions in any axis position, even with the longest tools in the working area.
