From the very beginning we were firmly committed to staying in touch with our customers and continuing to offer quality solutions for the machining sector. In terms of communication, we have relied on every format that online communication offers to achieve this. Social media has helped us to be closer to our customers, sharing our day-to-day activities and providing new, high-quality content for our sector.
In the first phase of lockdown, under the slogan “Industry is wealth, let's keep building the future”, our CEO, Manuel Fernández, sent a message of optimism, support and commitment to all companies in the metalworking sector.
Below is a summary of the most important events of the year at Ferrotall Group.
In additive manufacturing we signed an agreement to create 3DZ LEVANTE
In April we announced a representation agreement with 3DZ, the official distributor of the most prestigious 3D brands: a commitment to quality in 3D software, printing and scanning. The agreement and the creation of 3DZ LEVANTE were presented in a WEBINAR (our first) and were very well received.
In November, in the field of additive manufacturing and machining, we held the Machining and 3D Printing Days: two days packed with talks in webinar format, in which we showed you the possibilities, solutions and myths of this new machining concept, which is here to stay.
In numerical control, following the agreement to represent throughout Spain the prestigious German brand of 5-axis machining centres GROB, we have focused on showing you the features, benefits and possibilities that these machines offer in the various machining sectors.
We also wanted to put a human face to the customers who have acquired this type of machining centre, such as FAYMM and SAINDU
In September we held our first Digital Machining Day, in which, together with our colleagues from Smartpm, Gühring and Delfin Componentes, we filmed the machining of a part in real time on the GROB G550 horizontal 5-axis machining centre.
The Vurcon brand is steadily growing and in 2020 added new models to its range, such as its CNC lathes
Ferromaster, Ferrotall Group's in-house technical service, has taken a leap in quality by completing the training that accredits it as theonly official GROB service in Spain.
In used machinery, we have continued to renew our stock by taking part in international auctions (at the beginning of the year) and online auctions, so that we can always acquire and offer competitive machines to the market. This year we would particularly like to highlight the work of our Ferromaster technicians in Finland (installation and commissioning).
In conventional machinery, Heller has taken advantage of the situation to make some changes to its product range, such as adding its smallest lathe, the CE360X100,, the ball-turning lathe and the FU1500 milling machine. This summer it also launched a project to reassess the risks and safety concepts of its machines together with PILZ.
Prosafe+, our latest venture
As a result of the health situation, and with the aim of offering a quality, locally manufactured product (complying with the regulations of the AEMPS), a new company has been created, based in Elche. PROSAFE+ is Ferrotall Group's healthcare company, which manufactures surgical masks with 99.9% bacterial filtration efficiency.
By way of reflection, the pandemic has brought us an unprecedented situation that affects every level of society. We all have to learn from good situations, but we must learn even more from adverse ones. At Ferrotall we want to maintain our commitment to the sector and, above all, to our customers. We are looking forward to 2021 with the same enthusiasm, or even more, than we had at the start of 2020.
