FAYMM SUCCESS STORY
The Spanish company Fabricaciones y Montajes Mecánicos (FAYMM), which manufactures and assembles high-precision metal parts and assemblies for sectors such as automotive, aeronautics and defence, has trusted Ferrotall with its machinery renewal plan, with the new acquisition of the GROB G550 5-axis universal machining centre.
Problem
Fabricaciones y Montajes Mecánicos (FAYMM) wanted to renew its machining fleet to increase performance in terms of both production quality and output, and to continue its Industry 4.0 transformation strategy.
Solution
Following technical advice from Ferrotall, and given FAYMM's positive user experience with the GROB brand, they opted for the G550 universal machining centre with the GROB 4 Pilot control system: a state-of-the-art control with a multifunctional user interface, capable of CAD/CAM visualisation and a complete digital production process on the machine (paperless production through access to ERP, MES, PLM and TDM systems, as well as the exclusive GROB NET4Industry platform).
PROCESS
Installation and commissioning were carried out by Ferrotall's service department, which specialises in this type of machine and is the only official service partner in Spain accredited by the German manufacturer. In addition to installing and calibrating the machining centre, they also connected the GROB TM180 tool changer to the G550.
