Description and equipment
What it is
Single-point tool (tool bit) grinder made by Erandio, built on an upright base with a cabinet. It is used to sharpen tool bits and lathe cutting tools with collets and cup wheels.
Key strengths
The machine has a swivelling collet head, a slide with feed handwheel and an enclosed wheel motor, with a rotary main switch. No control electronics can be seen in the photos.

Frequently asked questions
What is a tool bit grinder used for?
For sharpening single-point cutting tools, such as lathe tool bits, with the required rake and clearance angles. The tool is held in a collet, the head is set to the angle and the tool is presented to the grinding wheel. It saves buying a new tool every time one wears.
Which accessories can be seen in the photos?
Ten collets of different sizes and six grinding wheels, several of them cup wheels, can be seen next to the machine. It is advisable to confirm during the visit which items are supplied with the unit, as they may not be those on the final list.
Is it a CNC machine?
No. From the photos it is a manually operated grinder, with a feed handwheel, clamping levers and a rotary main switch. No screen or numerical control of any kind can be seen, and the grinding depends on the setting the operator makes for each tool.
