Telwin PTE 18 pedestal spot welder, from 1991 according to our data sheet. It is used to join thin sheet by resistance welding in metal fabrication, furniture making, grilles and sheet metal part production.

What is a spot welder such as the Telwin PTE 18 used for?
It joins thin sheets by electrical resistance: the two electrodes clamp the sheets and the current melts the metal at a single spot, with no filler material. It is used in metal fabrication, furniture making and sheet metal part production, mainly for small batches and workshop jobs.
What year is this unit?
Our data sheet gives 1991. The photos show the PTE 18 marking but no legible plate to confirm the year, so we will check it on the machine.
How is it operated?
The photos show a pedal at the base of the machine, so the operator closes the electrodes with their foot, leaving both hands free to position the workpiece. There are two rotary adjustment knobs on the front. Current and time settings are not listed on the data sheet.
