What advantage does a radial arm drill have over a pillar drill?

On a radial arm drill the part stays still and it is the head that is positioned along the arm, which also swings around the column. This means many holes can be drilled in large parts without repositioning them.

What taper does the spindle on this machine have?

According to our data sheet, the taper is CM-5, i.e. Morse taper 5. Bear this in mind for the drill chucks and Morse taper drills you plan to use.

What transmission does it have?

The data sheet states gear transmission. Speeds and feeds are changed through the gearbox in the head, without an electronic variable-speed drive.
