Description and equipment
What it is
Deckel Maho (DMG) DMC 64 V linear vertical machining centre, built in 2003. It is a medium-sized machine for milling mould parts, tooling and general machining in steel and aluminium.

According to listings for the series on machinery portals, the DMC 64 V linear reaches rapid traverse rates of up to 70 m/min on the X axis. Our data sheet gives a 12,000 rpm spindle, SK 40 taper and a tool changer with up to 30 tools; the control is Siemens, with a portable electronic handwheel.

Frequently asked questions
What travels and table size does the DMC 64 V linear have?
According to our data sheet, the travels are 640 mm in X, 600 mm in Y and 500 mm in Z, with an 850 x 630 mm table. These dimensions suit medium-sized parts. The maximum table load is not given in our data sheet and can be checked with our service engineers.
Which taper and spindle speed does it have?
Our data sheet gives an SK 40 taper and a spindle speed of up to 12,000 rpm. SK 40 is a DIN 69871 taper widely used in Europe, with a broad choice of toolholders, which keeps tooling costs down. The data sheet also lists a tool changer with up to 30 tools.
Does it support through-tool coolant?
No, according to our data sheet it does not have through-tool coolant. It does have an auger-type swarf conveyor. For deep drilling, bear in mind when assessing the planned work that coolant would be supplied externally. The data sheet does not give the spindle power.
