High-capacity Geminis centre lathe with 4,000 mm between centres. Designed for long, large-diameter parts such as shafts, rollers, cylinders and heavy machinery components.

Frequently asked questions
What workpiece length does the Geminis GE 870 x 4000 accept?
According to our data sheet, 4,000 mm between centres and an 870 mm swing over bed, rising to 1,100 mm in the gap. It is a lathe for long shafts and cylinders. The load capacity between centres is not recorded; please check it with us before planning heavy parts.
What is the gap on a lathe?
It is the recess in the bed next to the headstock that allows larger-diameter parts of short length to be turned. On this lathe the swing in gap is 1,100 mm, compared with 870 mm over the bed, according to our data sheet.
What speed range does it have?
According to our data sheet and the headstock plate, 16 to 1,250 rpm, spread over several ranges with a selector. Such a low range is right for large-diameter parts, where the cutting speed calls for low revolutions. The plate also shows the lever positions for each speed.
