Samel honing machine, made by Industria Sala Melero (Barcelona) according to the lettering on the front, for finishing cylindrical bores with honing stones.
Markings on the front
The front panel of this unit carries tables for selecting speeds and pressures according to bore diameter, and stones according to surface roughness and the material to be machined.
Configuration of this unit
- Front panel with pressure gauge, two control knobs and operating lever.
- Honing spindle in the centre of the front panel.
- Belt drive with stepped pulleys inside.
- Collecting tray with grid and lower cabinet.
- Plate on the front with serial number and type left blank.
- Surface rust, dust and worn paint visible on the tray and drive; the actual condition cannot be assessed from the photos.

Finishing cylinder liners, bushes, pump bodies and other bores that require precision and controlled surface roughness.

What does a honing machine do?
It improves the geometry and surface finish of cylindrical bores by rotating and reciprocating a tool fitted with abrasive stones inside the bore. It is used on liners, pump bodies and bushes. On this unit, the front panel carries tables for choosing speed, pressure and stone according to roughness.
What diameters can it handle?
The listing does not give the diameter range and the plate has not been filled in. The front panel includes a table of speeds and pressures by diameter, but the figures are hard to read in the photos. We will check this on the machine and confirm the range before making an offer.
