ONA die-sinking EDM machine, model P-520 Onamatic, from 2004 according to our data sheet. It offers travels of 1,500 x 1,000 x 400 mm and a 2,500 x 1,500 x 780 mm tank, a size designed for large moulds and dies.
Why this model is of interest
ONA is a Basque EDM manufacturer with decades of experience in die-sinking machines. Die-sinking EDM reproduces the shape of an electrode in the workpiece by means of electrical discharges in a dielectric, and can machine cavities and details in hardened steel that would be impossible to mill.

What travels does the ONA P-520 Onamatic have?
According to our data sheet, the travels are 1,500 mm in X, 1,000 mm in Y and 400 mm in Z, and the tank measures 2,500 x 1,500 x 780 mm. This size is suitable for large moulds and dies. The maximum workpiece weight should be checked with our service engineers.
What is die-sinking EDM?
It is a process in which an electrode with the required shape approaches the workpiece, immersed in dielectric, and electrical discharges remove material until that shape is reproduced. It is used for mould cavities, ribs and details in hardened steel.
Does it have an electrode changer?
No. Our data sheet states ‘electrode changer: No’, so electrodes are fitted manually. An automatic filter is listed. The machine is operated from a pendant control and a control cabinet with axis displays and a numeric keypad, as seen in the photos.
