Description and equipment

Used Tech'Soft digitising arm

Manual articulated measuring arm for probing a part and recording the position of the points touched, used for inspection and for capturing geometry for reverse engineering.

What the photos show

The photos show an arm with maroon joints, the Tech'Soft logo engraved on the joint covers and a probe at the end. The arm sits on a base resting on a metal table on castors and still has Mani-Grip packing tape on it. A serial-type connector can be seen on the base.

Configuration of this unit

  • Brand: Tech'Soft (logo on the joints)
  • Multi-joint arm with probe at the end
  • Base with serial-type connector
  • Metal table on castors as a stand

The exact model, number of axes, measuring volume, accuracy, software and control unit are not stated in the listing or shown in the photos. We do not include them because we cannot guarantee them.

Typical applications

Digitising parts and moulds, dimensional checks in the workshop and capturing shapes to reproduce or redesign a component.

Frequently asked questions

What does a digitising arm do?

It is an articulated arm moved by hand. When the probe touches the part, the position of the joints is used to calculate the coordinates of the point. With many points, the shape of the part is obtained, which is useful for checking dimensions or for reverse engineering.

What does it need to work?

An arm of this type is connected to a computer running the appropriate software. A serial-type connector can be seen on the base in the photos, but there is no computer or software in the images. Ask us what is supplied with the arm before you buy.

How accurate is this arm?

We cannot say: it is not stated in our listing and no calibration certificate is visible in the photos. If accuracy is a requirement, ask us to have it confirmed with the manufacturer or by calibration before purchase. Until then, we do not give it as a figure for this unit.
