The Mazak Quick Turn 8 is a compact slant-bed CNC lathe from the Japanese manufacturer Mazak, designed for turning small parts in general engineering workshops, short runs and bar work. It has 250 mm between centres, a max. turning diameter of 160 mm and a bar capacity of 35 mm.
Mazak popularised Mazatrol conversational programming, which lets the operator define the part and the operations at the control panel itself without writing ISO code. The control on this unit is a Mazatrol CAM T-2, as shown on the front panel. The photos also show a tailstock, a tool turret and a side swarf conveyor.
Turning of small parts, shafts, bushes, fittings and bar parts up to 35 mm, from trials and prototypes to short and medium runs.
The lathe is at our premises in Monforte del Cid (Alicante), where you can visit it; contact us to see it running or to receive a video. Our own service engineers take care of transport, installation and commissioning.
According to our data sheet, the max. turning diameter is 160 mm, the distance between centres 250 mm and the bar capacity 35 mm. It is a compact lathe suited to small parts. To check a specific part, send us your drawing.
It is a Mazak conversational control: the operator enters the part dimensions and the operations, and the control generates the program. It reduces the need to write ISO code by hand. The front panel of our unit shows Mazatrol CAM T-2. Our service engineers can advise you on how to use it.
No. According to our data sheet, the turret is automatic but not driven, so the machine is designed for turning, axial drilling and conventional lathe operations. If you need to mill or cross-drill with rotating tools, you should consider a lathe with a live-tool turret.
