Description and equipment
What it is
Haas UMC-750SS 5-axis vertical machining centre, built in 2015. According to Haas, the UMC series has an integrated two-axis trunnion table, which allows complex parts to be machined on several faces in a single set-up.
Key strengths
According to Haas, the UMC-750 series is fitted with a 500 mm tilting rotary table. Our data sheet gives a 15,000 rpm spindle, a 40-tool changer and through-tool coolant, with a Haas control.

Frequently asked questions
What travels does the Haas UMC-750SS have?
According to our data sheet, the travels are 762 mm in X, 508 mm in Y and 508 mm in Z, with a 630 x 500 mm table. According to Haas, the UMC series adds an integrated two-axis trunnion table for machining on several faces.
What spindle speed and tool changer does it have?
The data sheet gives a 15,000 rpm spindle (SS version, Super Speed), ISO 40 taper and a 40-station random tool changer. This configuration is geared to aluminium machining and high-speed finishing. Spindle power is not given in our data sheet.
What is the difference between 3+2 and full simultaneous 5-axis machining?
In 3+2 the table is positioned at an angle and machining is done with three axes; in simultaneous 5-axis all five axes move at once, which allows complex surfaces. The UMC-750SS can work in both modes with its trunnion table.
